Americans Are Drinking As Much As They Did In The 1800s

According to a new report from  National Institute on Alcohol Abuse and Alcoholism, Americans are consuming as much alcohol as they did in Civil War Days

In 2021, the average American consumed 2.51 gallons of ethanol — the alcohol found in wine, beer and spirits. In 1860, just before the Civil War started, the average American consumed 2.53 gallons.
