The National Weather Service has issued a Winter Storm Warning for the entire DC, Maryland and Northern Virginia areas in anticipation of a significant winter weather event being expected in the region on Thursday. The Warning is in effect late tonight through Thursday night.
With the latest update, the NWS has also increased their predictions for the amount of snow the area could see, with DC in the 4-6" range and Baltimore in the 6-8" range.
Significant ice accumulations could also occur, with the Annapolis area and areas just south of the District possibly seeing one-half inch of ice.
The National Weather Service is also warning that "power outages and tree damage are likely due to the ice. Travel could be nearly impossible. The hazardous conditions could impact the morning or evening commute."
