David Yergin-Doniger was named president of his firm, WG Construction Co., Inc., in 2016, after 8.5 years with the company. WG Construction is a heavy civil construction contractor specializing in structural concrete construction, water / waste water facility general contracting, and water, waste water, and storm water facility maintenance and inspection. David aims to use his position as head of WG Construction to advance the industry in Virginia. In addition to regularly collaborating with legislators to secure sustainable transportation funding, he provided valuable input to the state’s newly updated road and bridge standards.

David moved to Northern Virginia after graduating James Madison University in 2001. Caring for the Northern Virginia community has been an integral part of David’s life for more than two decades. He is a former emergency medical technician, crew leader, and board member for a local volunteer fire and rescue company and a former youth advisor, committee co-chair, and board member for his faith community. He is also a graduate of Leadership Fairfax, Inc. (ELI Class of 2006) and the Glass Leadership Institute (GLI Class of 2012).

After serving on the board of the Heavy Construction Contractors Association (HCCA), a regional nonprofit trade association, since 2012, David began a two-year term as HCCA president in January 2019. In 2013, he created HCCA’s leadership development institute, called HLI. Part of the eight-month program is designed to offer emerging and established industry leaders an opportunity to manage and execute high-profile community service projects. Since its founding, HLI has donated more than $1,000,000 of work to the Northern Virginia community. David stays active with the program, and delivers guest lectures and key notes on leadership, business management, and managerial finance.

In 2019, David was recognized in both the Engineering News Record (ENR-MidAtlantic) and the Washington Business Journal (WBJ) as a top young professional (top 40 under 40). David was also recognized in the Virginia Business Magazine as “100 People to Meet in 2020.” David is a member of the Washington Business Journal Leadership Trust, where his writing has been published online.

David lives with his family in Northern Virginia, where he is about to start his first year as a Cub Scout den leader.
