Professor Holds Baby For Student Entire Three Hour Class

Being a college student is challenging and so is being a mom, and doing both at once can be really hard. But professor Ramata Sissoko Cissé helped make it easier for one of her students who couldn’t find a babysitter and didn’t want to miss class.

The assistant professor of biology at Georgia Gwinnett College told her concerned student to come to class and bring the baby and they’d figure it out. The mother started out holding the infant on her lap, but couldn’t really write, so Cisséhelped her out and wore the baby on her back in a makeshift baby wrap for the three-hour class. She even fed him a bottle when he got hungry!

The teacher says her “mother’s instinct” kicked in and she was happy to help the student, who had an upcoming exam. “I know the student is very smart and ambitious,” Cissé explains. “She really wanted to learn.”
