The Most HATED Wedding Trends of 2019!

We’re all for couples having the wedding and reception they want, but that doesn’t mean we don’t find some of it annoying. It doesn’t just start on the big day either, we’re also over the pricey bachelorette party weekends and half a dozen showers and events before the nuptials. And according to anew survey, we’re not the only ones hating on some of these wedding trends.

Jewelry retailer Goldsmiths asked 1,000 people how they feel about all kinds of wedding trends, from the traditional to the newest crazes and it turns out a lot of us are rolling our eyes at the same things. Most of us are too polite to complain about these, but here are some of the most hated wedding trends in 2019.

  • Complicated wedding hashtags- Nearly half (42.5%) agree they’re pointless and sometimes confusing.
  • Doughnut walls- Sure, we love doughnuts, but 37.2% of those surveyed feel these are over-the-top.
  • Confusing poems in the invite- Apparently 37.2% of people prefer their invitations to be poetry-free.
  • Other disliked wedding trends include: pets as ring-bearers, cash bars, and hard to decipher dress codes.

And on the flip side, there are still plenty of things we love about weddings, including:

  • Good food- For 17.3% of folks surveyed, dessert tables are the best part of the big day.
  • Fireworks- People really appreciate a good show and 15.9% vote fireworks as their fave wedding trend.
  • Photo booths- This trend is the best part of the wedding celebration for 14.5% of people surveyed.
  • Other favorite wedding trends include: food trucks, wedding favors, and eco-friendly touches.
