Chevy Chase, Maryland - where dogs are apparently not allowed to bark in a dog park.
Yep, you read that right.
According to the Washington Post, the village spent $134,000 to turn a muddy triangle of land in a park where pups could run off-leash in a fenced refuge with other dogs. Chase tennis balls. Sniff one another's butts. It took one month before signs were put up that read "NO EXCESSIVE BARKING."
Apparently, residents who live near the dog park say that "their peace and quiet has been disturbed by barking dogs."
No offense, but a sign isn't going to stop a dog from doing what it does to communicate...BARK.
A real estate developer whose house sits across the street from the dog park even claims "...how many times is it acceptable for you to be bothered in your house everyday? You've created a nuisance."
A nuisance...of dogs running free with other dogs...being happy.
