We all know it takes a lot to plan a wedding and finding the perfect venue isn’t always easy, so when you have one you’re unlikely to give it up for any reason. And that’s just the case with one bride-to-be who was asked to give it to her sister and she refused.
The bride-to-be revealed on Reddit that she and her fiancé got engaged three years ago and since they weren’t in a rush to get hitched they decided to wait for their dream venue which didn’t have a date open for three years, with the wedding finally coming up next month.
Well, just a few months ago the bride’s sister got engaged and were planning a spring wedding next year, until the sister got knocked up and decided to push up her wedding plans. Shockingly, during a family barbecue the sister had the nerve to ask the bride-to-be to give up her venue and all her plans so she could step in and get married right away.
Everyone looked at the bride-to-be expecting her to say yes, with the sister suggesting it was no big deal, but the bride responded, “well it kind of is...I have my heart really set on the venue.” Well, cue the family feud. The sister started crying and their parents got furious with the bride, and even their grandmother called the bride-to-be “selfish.”
And it didn’t end there. The bride’s fiancé is now furious and doesn’t want the sister to come to the wedding, the family is threatening to skip the wedding and the bride-to-be is at a loss for what to do. Interestingly, the sister’s fiancé is actually on the bride’s side and tried to talk his fiancée out of even asking. He even called to apologize, although he says the sister is now blaming the bride for “potentially ruining her marriage.”
Well, when the Internet had a say everyone agreed the bride needed to stick to her guns and what the family was asking was unreasonable. Many urged the marrying couple to get all their passwords with their vendors secured right away in case the sister tried to secretly steal their plans away, while many called the actions of the bride’s family “disgusting.” One person noted, “poor planning on their part is not an emergency on your part," while another added, “your sister is a straight up corporate raider.”
In the end the bride is budging from her decision, even if it causes an all out family feud, with her family not coming.
