Nobody likes to be criticized for their clothing, but one woman in the U.K. was inspired by sarcastic comments from her boyfriend to flaunt her fashion even more. Olivia Jackson used what he said as fuel to start an Instagram page called Clothes My Boyfriend Hates, which now has more than 19-thousand followers.
Jackson started the Instagram page in March 2018, and followed that with a blog with the same name, after her partner’s comments, but she admits he’s actually “really supportive” of her clothes and her “willingness to wear them” anyway. The 24-year-old says she’s not trying to shame him for his input, but hopes her social media and the blog she now runs by the same name can “empower women to dress for themselves rather than for others around them.”
"I regularly get messages from women thanking me for inspiring them to be a bit more brave with their fashion choices, which I absolutely love," Jackson explains. "On the whole, reactions are overwhelmingly supportive, and I've met a lovely community of women who are now dressing for themselves, which is great."
