According to Breaking911, a helicopter crashed into a high rise building in Midtown Manhattan this afternoon and one person has been killed.
FDNY immediately responded to the scene at 7th Avenue and West 49th Street at the AXA Equitable Center. It crashed into the roof of the 54 story building, seemingly spinning out of control and it has been pouring down rain all day in New York City.
The pilot has been injured.
NYPD stated that "There was a helicopter hard landing on the roof of 787 7th Avenue in Midtown Manhattan. Fire has been extinguished. Please continue to avoid the area."
