What if I told you there is such a thing as a contest where competitors fully shut down their brains for 90 minutes and do literally nothing... Yes nothing! This has to be proof that I missed my calling in life because my guidance counselor didn’t tell me this incredible sport existed.
The yearly "2024 Space-Out Competition" was held in Japan a few days ago, and as soon as people saw how incredible everything looked, videos from the event went viral. However, let's first explain how Competitive Daydreaming works exactly!
Though you may think this is an easy competition to win because we all find ourselves daydreaming multiple times throughout the day, there is actually lots of ways to be disqualified. The rules are pretty simple. Competitors have to sit there, mindlessly, for 90 minutes. They cannot fall asleep. Laughing results in disqualification. Talking gets them disqualified as well. And heart rates are checked during the 90 minutes of competitive daydreaming.
This seems like something i've been training for my whole life! I may tryout next year!
