As girls, we live for the moment when we have an outing with the girls because you know what that means....! it's "Get Ready With Me" time! The time where you and your girls gather around a large mirror, blast music, and chat about how you think the night is going to go. What if I told you that is no longer the norm? You'd be shocked! I'm going to need you to have a seat for this next part.
According to a Tiktok, the entire venue (which appears to be some sort of club) in a combo of jeans, a nice top or T-shirt and…Sneakers.
Captioned, 'POV, it’s a Friday night at your local bar in 2024’, the video seems to be making light of the fact that fashion trends have changed quite a bit in the last decade or so. That said, we must point out that the creator was not suggesting that those who style it up with stilettos are old. But that doesn’t mean Millennials in the comments didn’t take the shocking scenes as a dig.
Some users are even commenting that they hate this and would miss getting all dolled up! I'm only 23 and I remember when we couldn’t enter if we had jeans on. I can't count on my hands anymore how many times I was turned away because the outfit I had on was deemed "too casual." Millennials are even jabbing gen z's wound by saying atleast when they wore casual clothes.
Not everyone was offended by the look, though. A user commented: ‘Wow everyone looks comfy and cute in their sneakers and jeans, love that. So not all of the comments are negative. And, well, it’s not like Millennials didn’t ever wear flats to the club.
Are we forgetting them tactically stuffing their clutch bags with ballet pumps to wear on the walk home or the savvy sellers who’d peddle flip flops outside of clubs, knowing that as soon as last orders were called, they'd all be kicking off their heels to give their poor soles a rest.
