Feel like everyone you've ever known is finding their one true love? It turns out you’re not alone, because there is something in the air and it’s called ‘cuffing season’. If you aren't familiar with Cuffing Season, it refers to the urge to shack up with a short-term partner to see us through the cold winter months.

Though that sounds grand and all, according to our experts, picking up a partner just to have someone to hibernate with could be doing us more harm than good. The reality of things is that people don’t like being lonely, We can even describe loneliness as a “new epidemic” in 2024. But when you’re lonely, you make decisions that don’t exactly serve you.

If "Cuffing season" is a headache for you, I recommend ‘culling season’. Instead of locking someone down” just for the sake of “having someone, people use this time to reevaluate their connections.  ‘Culling season’, according to Searle, is a chance for intentional reflection, growth, and, most importantly, shedding relationships that no longer serve our best interests. Whether that’s ending a friendship, getting rid of a client, or saying no to a situationship that leaves you on seen for days.

People will treat you the way you treat yourself,” she says. “So if you decide that you're not worthy, then you're going to attract people who also believe you're not worthy. Whereas if you feel like you are worthy and you take active steps to fill your own emotional cup and to choose yourself and to make decisions that actually you know are good for you, then those people will naturally leave your life anyway

It’s about improving, and as soon as you make different decisions, life will take care of the rest. So who's with me? Are we in our culling era? I think yes!
