A company that wants to bring back the extinct woolly mammoth says it's made a major breakthrough.
Texas-based Colossal Biosciences announced Wednesday that it has created a set of stem cells from an Asian elephant, hoping to manipulate it into bringing the giant creature back to life. Mammoths went extinct about four-thousand years ago. While this project is in the early stages, the creature brought back wouldn't be the same as old mammoths, just similar.
