What To Do When Someone Knocks At Your Door To Avoid A Break-In

You might not want to hide from the windows and door the next time someone random knocks on your door according to TikTok!

Thanks to @lorifullbright, who is actually a crime reporter in Tulsa, Oklahoma, people are now realizing that trying to be quiet and hiding from your window when someone knocks could actually make an intruder or burglar more likely to try to break into your home.

Her video has over 1.5 million views as of right now and the reporter bases her fact on interviews she had had with burglars over the years. According to them, burglars would more likely hit a house that's empty compared to one that had multiple people inside.

You can kind of think of it like the "Home Alone effect" where the main character Kevin had to pretend that more people were home so that the Wet Bandits would think the house wasn't empty and able to be broken into.

You can watch her TikTok below explaining more about what to do, but it also might help to invest in a front door camera!
