YourTango put out an article about the bizarre ways your brain interprets food as love and I found it SO interesting.
First, let's get to know the brain. According to YourTango:
A segment of the brain called the limbic system governs our reward circuitry, or "pleasure centers," which in turn rule our wants and desires, especially when it comes to love and food, the two things the body — and the species — need to survive.
So when it comes to your brain interpreting food as love, it has a lot to do with that "pleasure center" and the hormones released when eating foods.
For example, when you eat something you enjoy, the brain receives a kind of stimuli to the limbic system that unleashes dopamine.
