A new study from New York University says it takes us less than FIVE SECONDS to decide if we like a song. Scientists say that people’s opinions of a new song didn’t change, depending on if they listened to a snippet or the whole song.
They also discovered that people liked the song more if they heard the whole thing rather than just a snippet.
The study says, quote, "The fact that a small excerpt is enough to tell us if we like it or hate it, suggests that we respond more to the general vibe that a song brings to us rather than its musical notes per se."
