Something tells us somebody is in hot water at DDOT because they accidentally misspelled "Virginia" on a new street sign even though the state border was a mile away from the sign!
The sign went viral this weekend after people saw that instead of being correctly spelled as "Virginia" it was missing the second "i" and was misspelled as "Virgina" on the corner of Virginia Avenue and 18th Street near Constitution Hall.
According to the DC Department of Transportation the typo was a mistake by a contractor they hired to help create the street signs and luckily only one sign had the error, but you already know people tried to steal the sign and keep it forever!
