Washington, D.C. is on the List of Rudest Cities in America

There's a new study that names the rudest cities in America... and it's based on the people who LIVE in those cities. A survey asked 1,500 residents of the 30 largest metros to rate the rudeness level in their city.

Here's the Top 10 rudest cities, according to their residents:

 

1. Philadelphia
2. Memphis 
3. New York City
4. Las Vegas
5. Boston
6. Detroit
7. San Francisco
8. Washington, D.C.
9. Los Angeles
10. Houston

On the flip-side, the most POLITE cities in America include:

1. Austin
2. San Diego
3. Fort Worth, TX
4. Nashville
5. Indianpolis
6. Chicago
7. Columbus, OH
8. Oklahoma City
9. Milwaukee
10. Denver

 The study also looked at the most common rude behavior and which city was most likely to be guilty of it, rudeness from locals vs. non-locals, and rudest behaviors when traveling abroad.
