Tiny shifts in your day can cause anxiety. These shifts are called "micro-transitions" and although they are usually overlooked, they may be causing some anxiety in your life.
Typically when we think of things that make us anxious, we think of BIG things: losing a job, health issues, etc. But here are some of the smaller shifts to look out for to see if they trigger your anxiety.
- SUNSET- Dark thoughts surface more at night, you might start to overthink things you did or said during the day.
- THE END OF A FUN EVENT- You might overthink if you had enough fun or did everything you wanted to do at the fun event, like on a vacation. There's either a sense of dread the fun is ending or feeling someone bummed you didn't do everything you wanted to.
- AUDIENCE TRANSITIONS- Feeling like you need to be on your best behavior around certain people can cause anxiety.
- CONFLICTING OBLIGATIONS- Having to chose between two things or trying to time things out to do two things. You feel like you're being pulled in two directions.
