What Your Pedicurist Knows About You Based On Your Feet.

Your feet and even hands can giveaway from clues as to your health and habits.

Manicurist, Erin Beckett-Gland says, “Feet often tell a story. I can tell when someone is wearing shoes too small for them by the way their toenails split or their toes are curled into hammer toes or claw toes. I can tell when they over pronate, roll their feet inward too much or need an arch support because they have the signs of a bunion and the big toe deviating.”

A well educated pedicurist can spot health concerns from your finger and toenails. Erin says she refers customers to a health care professional if she notices anything that is cause for concern.

Things you shouldn't do before an appointment:

  1. Shave in the day or two prior-- nicks and cuts can lead to infections
  2. prep you toes-- don't cut your own toenails before your appointment.
  3. DO take a shower: clean, dry feet is best -- no lotions or oils.
