Well this is annoying. According to an email sent to Uber customers, Uber is getting rid of their split fare feature. If you haven't used split fare before it allows friends to split the cost of a ride within the app.
But the good news is, it sounds like it's only temporary.
The email says that the feature would be discontinued starting March 21, but later Uber confirmed to Mashable that was an error. They say the feature will be temporarily deactivated in April.
An Uber spokesperson said in an email to Mashable: "We are in the process of reworking how riders split fares and the feature will be temporarily removed from the Uber app next month. We know this is a popular feature, so rest assured that we are planning to roll out a new, improved version in the coming months."
