If you've ever wanted to live near penguins and have it snow all the time then just know that you can live in one of two settlements in Antarctica to check those things off, but you might have to get rid of your appendix to live there!
Villas Las Estrellas is one of two settlements in Antarctica and actually requires future residents to have their appendix removed before they move there because of how far the nearest hospital is.
The nearest hospital is 625 miles away and current residents are also discouraged from getting pregnant because temperatures can drop below -100 degree Fahrenheit so it's a no-go for anyone in need of a hospital.
If you wanted to live the single, no-kid life then this might be perfect for you, but you might want to get ready for the cold!
