Are you trying to burn a few extra calories in 2022? Turns out you don't have to spend all day at the gym and can instead act like your great-grandparents did back in the day to get a little more fit this year.
While it's recommended that we do at least 150 minutes of exercise a week, which is about 20-30 minutes a day, experts say acting like how your ancestors did could help you attain the time in no time.
Essentially you just have to do things as if you were living in the early 1900s when there weren't elevators in apartment buildings, washing machines, and phones. Here are some of the things experts say you can do to help:
- Climb stairs rather than take the elevator
- Carry groceries into the house one bag at a time (multiple trips add up)
- Go for short walks as many times as possible during the day (either with a pet, your partner, or by yourself)
- Park in the back parking spots instead of the front
Every little bit helps!!
