A travel expert is sharing how to get through airport security as fast as possible for free. Nora Dunn has a three-part hack for speeding through. She explains that the key is finding the right line to get in.
- Look at the people in line and choose the one with the most business travelers- This travel expert points out that “these are the people who have airport security clearance down to a fine art.” While you’re waiting in line behind the business travelers, pay attention to what they do and learn from them.
- Avoid the lines with families with small children- Since many business travelers are already pre-screened with TSA in the U.S., if you don’t see a line with them in it, Dunn warns to steer clear of lines with families with little kids at all costs. That’s because they’re notoriously slow at getting their bags and belongings through the x-ray machines, which is understandable since they’re dealing with their kiddos.
- Look at the agents and choose the line with only one agent at the x-ray machine- She says this is her most important tip! According to Dunn, if there’s more than one agent, chances are one of them is a trainee and that can really slow things down.
- Once you’re in the right line, be on the ball- That means having your liquids easily accessible in a Ziploc bag, pulling out your electronics and laptop and removing your shoes and belt.
Other travel experts have shared that going left at airport security checks could help you get through faster, since most people are right-handed. And airport staff members have revealed that if you whistle or yawn, you’re more likely to be stopped by airport security.
