The latest supply-chain issue impacting restaurants is for take-out boxes and cups. Because of Covid, and the increase demand for take-out and delivery during quarantine, the supplies needed for take-out are running low.
Not only is it harder to get the things they need, but they take long and the prices for those supplies have increased significantly.
Ultimately, those prices are going to impact the prices for customers too.
One of the county's largest food distributors, US Foods, told CNBC they were doing what they could to address the issues. "We have taken aggressive steps to minimize the impact of labor and supplier challenges on our customers," a spokesperson said. "To further mitigate potential impacts, we may also work closely with some customers in specific markets to temporarily adjust their orders while we manage through local challenges."
