Before you grab that cup of coffee first thing in the morning you might want to wait. A doctor is warning that drinking coffee to wake up might be counter productive if your goal is to feel more energized throughout the day.
Dr Karan Raj, who regularly shares health tips on his popular @dr.karanr TikTok account, suggests saving it for later in the day. There's science behind it. He explained, quote, "Your body naturally wakes you up with cortisol, you get a cortisol spike in the morning. So save your coffee until slightly later mid-morning when your cortisol dips and your energy dips - you'll get a caffeine boost then."
