OMG A hotel in New York is allowing you to essentially foster a shelter dog for a day & take them on excursions.
This is such a fun idea.
Saranac Waterfront has launched its new "Dogcations for Donations" program, which gives guests an opportunity to help the shelter dogs in the area.
Here's how it works: Guests can pre-arrange a time to take a dog out of the shelter for a day-long fostering. They will be provided with an approved list of activities that the pup will enjoy. Things like: paddle boarding, hiking, a picnic, etc. The program requires a $40 donation, which is fully matched by the hotel.
If you happen to fall in love with your puppy match, you could always apply to the shelter to adopt them. Even if you don't adopt the dog, think about how happy much of a difference you'll be making in that dog's life.
