In 11971, Diane and Ed Nesselhuf got married. On their honeymoon, they bought a souvenir can of Coors Banquet Beer, which at the time had very limited distribution. It was special and they decided to save it to drink on their 50th wedding anniversary.
Diane said, quote, “You couldn’t buy Coors anywhere but Colorado. I just remember Ed pulling it out and saying, ‘We’ll drink this at our 50th Anniversary.’”
Sadly, Ed passed away from lung cancer in 2016, but one of his final requests was that Dianne enjoy the beer with their son on their 50th anniversary.
Diane did just that and she said the beer was still tasty.
