Well this is interesting!
A salon in Dubai has been getting a lot of attention for its microchip manicure. Basically, a small NFC chip is applied to the fingernail and then covered with a special coating for protection. That chip can hold all kids of information like social media profiles, websites and contact information.
Nour Makarem claims that her salon, Lanour Beauty Lounge, has done over 500 Smart Nail manicures so far. It'll cost you about 250 Dhs or about $70.
As far as security concerns go, there really aren't any. According to the report on OddityCentral, quote, "the microchip is a ‘passive device’, which means its data can only be read when in close proximity (under an inch) to NFC-compatible gadgets like smartphones."
I mean, at least you won't have to fumble looking for a business card anymore. Can you imagine the impression you'd make by scanning your fingernail??
