What Does Your Sleep Style Say about Your Personality?

A study by OnePoll came out recently that analyzed participant's favorite sleeping positions and what that says about their personalities. The study profiled 2,000 Americans and concluded that nearly half of Americans prefer sleeping on their sides.

According to the study, side sleepers are the mostly likely to consider themselves as extroverts and night owls. Stomach sleepers are the most chill or easygoing and they identify as more of a combination between an early bird and a night owl. Back sleepers are more likely to talk in their sleep, sleepwalk, and have vivid dreams and/or nightmares.

Here are some interesting facts from the study:

Back sleepers

  • Take the least amount of time to fall asleep (20.1 minutes)
  • Get the least amount of sleep a night (5.28 hours)
  • Get five nights of perfect sleep a month
  • Most likely to be an early bird (42.81%)
  • Most likely to be an introvert (37.54%)

Side sleepers

  • Take the most amount of time to fall asleep (23.88 minutes)
  • Get the most amount of sleep a night (5.78 hours)
  • Get six nights of perfect sleep a month
  • Most likely to be a night owl (32.65%)
  • Most likely to be an extrovert (28.44%)

Stomach sleepers

  • Take 22.51 minutes to fall asleep
  • Get 5.65 hours of sleep a night
  • Get six nights of perfect sleep a month
  • Most likely to be both an early bird and night owl (33.94%)
  • Most likely to be an ambivert (41.90%)
