So, We Probably Shouldn’t Have Been Dating Anyone In High School

Remember all that pressure you felt in high school to get a girlfriend/boyfriend? You didn’t want to be the loser without a prom date...and you thought if you couldn’t find love by graduation, that you’d be destined to be alone forEVER!

According to a new study, it turns out that teens who skip the high school dating scene aren’t actually social mutants. In fact, when it comes to their emotional state, they may actually be better off than those of us who did go steady with someone during our teenage years.

The study followed close to 600 tenth graders and the teenagers who weren’t in romantic involved not only had good social skills...but they reported lower levels of depression. Their teachers also said the prudes of the bunch were actually more socially adjusted and better leaders than the Corey and Topanga’s of the bunch.

Apparently, our parents were right...we should’ve skipped the pressures of dating and focused on the pressures of grades, work, sports, socializing, insane hormones, and everything else.
