Women Are More Likely To Hate Their Exes!

Are you friends with your exes? It can be a touchy subject for some and according to new research, there may be a gender divide when it comes to the way we see our former flames. A new study from Austria of 900 adults finds that when it comes to exes, men tend to view theirs more favorably than women do.

Researchers suggest there are a few reasons for this. They say women are more likely to view their investment in a relationship as a waste of time if it doesn’t end in a lifelong commitment, while men are more inclined to think of the relationship as a gratifying experience that met their needs, no matter how it ends.

The study finds that women are also more likely than men to blame their breakup on their exes, and to call out “problematic partner behaviors,” including cheating. Women also do more “constructive coping” than men do, by leaning on friends for support. And on the flip side, men are more likely to claim they don’t know what caused their breakups, “often remain emotionally attached longer,” and are less likely to feel their ex was wrong for them, so they tend to think of them more positively.
