Between the cake, the dress, the food, the photography and flowers, weddings can get pretty pricey, with couples in 2019 spending an average of $39-thousand, according to this year’s Newlywed Report from WeddingWire. And coordinating the event can feel overwhelming, which is why so many couples hire a wedding planner. But a recent survey reveals that almost half of them end up regretting it.
The survey from Novi Financial asked 1,000 adults who were married in the past decade about their wedding experiences and which they felt were a waste of money. And nearly half of them (48.5%) said wedding planners weren’t worth the money, making it the biggest regret for both men and women. Coming in at number two was videography with 36.7%, followed by wedding favors with 36.1%.
On the flip side, the survey also shows which wedding expenses couples agree are worth the splurge at your nuptials. The bride’s dress came in on top with 56.6%, followed by photography with 53.1% and the wedding cake with 52.4%.
