Everything was all set for Chandley Brelsford to get married on June 8th, 2019…but it didn’t happen. The 22-year-old bride-to-be says she “wanted to wake up giddy and nervous, excited to see the man of my dreams at the end of the aisle,” but three weeks before the wedding was supposed to happen, she called it off. What happened?
After dating her former fiancé for four years, Chandley explains that she broke things off when she realized how controlling he was. She says he always questioned where she was, who she was with, and even got upset if she chose to see her family instead of spending time with him. Chandley says she felt more and more isolated and that she “lost herself” along the way.
And sure she was initially thrilled when he popped the question, but as time went on, she says felt trapped and like she had no say in her life anymore. After calling off the wedding, Chandley says she felt depressed, but and thanks to support from loved ones, things turned. As for the “what next?” Chandley says she considered a “trash the dress” photo shoot, but “didn’t feel vengeful” so she came up with her own idea. Her wedding photographer took solo photos of her in the wedding dress and she had a message of hope on the bottom of her shoes: “Some Day, But Not Today.”
