Americans Are Still Skipping Breakfast!

No matter how many times health experts tell us breakfast is the most important meal of the day, it seems a lot of us just aren’t listening.

According to a new survey, the average American only eats breakfast about three days a week, with 13% of people saying they don’t eat breakfast at all. And although for 65% of people eggs are the most popular breakfast option, 58% of folks only have coffee for their morning meal.Other top breakfast foods include:

  • Cereal (56%)
  • Breakfast sandwich (46%)
  • Bacon (42%)

Now for those who do eat breakfast, they usually fall into one of two categories, savory vs. sweet, and the survey finds there are some surprising characteristics that are associated with each type. For example, the savory eater:

  • Prefers rock and electronic music
  • Makes more money
  • Is a night owl
  • Likes cats
  • Gives more hugs.
  • Most likely to own their home
  • Most productive at 10:54 a.m.
  • Crashes at work at 2:53 p.m.

As for those who love a sweet breakfast, like say cereal, they:

  • Prefer classical, jazz and pop music
  • Like comedy, romance and action movies
  • Have a lively social life
  • Like dogs
  • Are an early bird.
  • Crash at 2:03 pm
