Sports radio personality and expert Matt Money Smith joined Ryan Seacrest on-air on Wednesday, October 28, to celebrate the Dodgers’ 2020 World Series win and also explained how Justin Turner may have tested positive for Coronavirus in the bubble.

In case you missed it, the Dodgers secured their first World Series win in 32 years against the Tampa Bay Rays.

Amid the celebratory headlines, Dodgers’ all-star Justin Turner made headlines for testing positive for COVID-19 and being around players post-game to celebrate.

“I do know … he was tested the day before. The result came back in the second inning inconclusive — they get two tests a day — so they expedited the result of the second test that came back in the 8th inning and it came back positive that’s why he was pulled from the game,” Smith shared with Seacrest. “Why was he out there? Pretty much because the Dodgers were comfortable assuming it was a false positive. Like how does a guy who’s been quarantined with the team away from everybody else get it three weeks after he’s been in the same bubble of people?”

Smith added that it is “possible” that he may have contracted the virus somehow in the stadium, perhaps while catching a fly ball near fans.

“But,” he added. “I think they probably just said we’re going to bet it’s a false positive.”

Smith added that while many are quick to point fingers at Turner for being reckless following his results, fans need to remember his story.

“For his personal story, this is someone who was nearly out of baseball,” he reminded listener’s on-air. “… I think we all hope it’s a false positive and he got a chance to enjoy this because it's been a heck of a ride.”

As for Turner himself, the sports star tweeted he’s feeling great.

“Thanks to everyone reaching out! I feel great, no symptoms at all,” he tweeted following the big win. “Just experienced every emotion you can possibly imagine. Can’t believe I couldn’t be out there to celebrate with my guys! So proud of this team & unbelievably happy for the City of LA #WorldSeriesChamps.”
