Kim Cattrall is bringing us what’s soon-to-be our new favorite guilty pleasure: Filthy Rich. The Sex and the City alum joined Ryan Seacrest on-air on Monday, September 21, and dished what drew her to the character.
Premiering Sept. 21 on Fox, the soapy drama stars Cattrall as the matriarch of a family of Southern televangelists whose lives and faith are tested by the discovery of three illegitimate children.
“It’s a soap opera definitely,” Kim shared with Seacrest. “It is a fable or sorts, but it’s really reflecting … a lot of what’s going on in this country,” the actress added. “…It’s reflecting reality in an exaggerated way.”
So what drew Kim to her character?
“She’s outrageous,” Kim admitted of matriarch Margaret. “She jumped off the page and grabbed me by the throat,” she jokingly added. “… I love to play characters that have more than one face to the world. … She controls absolutely everyone and everything.”
