Last month, Hailey Bieber was hospitalized after having a mini-stroke. She posted a video telling her story. (Below)
Hailey said she felt a “weird sensation” in her right arm. Then her fingers felt “numb and weird.” When Justin asked if she was okay, she realized she “couldn’t speak.” She recalled, “The right side of my face started drooping, I couldn't get a sentence out. Immediately, I thought I was having a stroke.” The mini-stroke was caused by a blood clot and they caught it in time.
Hailey says that she had started birth control without talking to her doctor first and because she was suffering from migraines, the birth control was problematic. She also recently had COVID and had been traveling a lot.
In a follow-up doctor visit, it was discovered that Hailey had a small opening in her heart. Because of her condition, her blood clot traveled through this opening and up to her brain.
She went through a recent procedure to close the hole. She said, quote, "I just feel really relieved that we were able to figure everything out, that we were able to get it closed, that I will be able to move on from this really scary situation and just live my life."
Hailey has to take daily aspirin and blood thinners, but on the plus side, she's no longer feeling any symptoms from the stroke or the hole in her heart.
