It's no secret that I LOVE planners and office supplies. I've tried almost every type of planner and while each has something I like, it took me a long time to find the PERFECT planner for me.
I get questions about what I use all the time and since I've found my prefect planner, I decided to create a list of my favorite planner must haves.
Please know that I am NOT getting paid for this post. I just genuinely love these things & wanted to share in case you want to get organized as well.
A Planner You Love
I've always been on the hunt for the PERFECT planner for me. I need a lot of spaced for my daily tasks, but also wants a place where I could put my schedule. Then I found the DAY DESIGNER.
It's perfect for me because it's a daily spread that has a daily to-do list, a top 3, a schedule and some extra boxes for notes, gratitude, what's due, dinner, etc. It also comes in two sizes- I prefer the mini- and you can get it as an academic planner (July - June) or for the whole year (January-December). It also has some pages at the front to set goals and schedules, etc. Oh and if you're wondering about pens bleeding through that pages, I haven't had an issue with that and I've used sharpie pens & Le Pens.
Side note: I have done a BULLET JOURNAL in the past, but honestly it takes too much times to set up & I have to be in the mood to be creative. It's great and I loved how I could change the set up anytime I wanted, but I just wanted it DONE.
Overall Dimensions for the Mini (SMALLER ONE): **The one I use**
6.625” wide x 8.3” tall Page Dimensions: 6” wide x 8.125” tall Depth: 1.5" (Including the binding)Weight: 1.6 lbs.
Overall Dimensions for the Flagship Planner (BIGGER ONE) :
9″ wide x 9.75″ tallPage Dimensions: 7.3″ wide x 9.5″ tallDepth: 1.5" (Including the binding)Weight: 2.5 lbs.

Hightlighters
Any highlighter will do. I use highlighters to rank the task in order of importance.
Blue: Important. Must do today. Green: Bill due date. Pink: Semi-important. Should probably do today, but can wait until later or tomorrow. (not as important as blue) yellow: Least important task, but should get done within the week. Purple: Birthday or anniversary. Orange: Appointment or Meeting.WHERE TO BUY: Pretty much anywhere.
Washi Tape
My love for washi tape is new.
1.) It's SUPER cute.
2.) it helps me block out a large period of time. If I'm traveling or out of town for a length of time I use the washi tape to block it off so it sticks out more in my month view.
I will say, don't get more that 3 rolls of washi tape. There are millions of designs, but these 3 will last me so long.
WHERE TO BUY: Pretty much anywhere. These specific designs were found at Michael's HERE.
A Pen/Pencil Case
Pencils and pens are an obvious need for your planner. I use the pencil for pending things/ appointments/ tasks, etc.
I put all my planner must haves (except the actual planner) in a pencil case. Just to keep it all in one place and so it's not floating around in the bottom of my bag.
WHERE TO BUY: Pretty much anywhere. I got this one from my friend Carla Marie. (She's awesome and you should follow her @TheCarlaMarie oh and she has a cool podcast called Side Hustlers. LISTEN HERE:
Post-it Notes
(various sizes & colors)
Post-it notes are LIFE. I use this for my on-going to do list. These are things are aren't super important, but need to be done eventually. I move them with the day/ week. I also use a smaller post-it (the pink one pictured) for specific appointments or tasks that might change in date.
WHERE TO BUY: Anywhere you shop.I bought a pack of 24 pads on Amazon and you can get it HERE.
PENS
In the past I've used sharpie pens & Le Pens. The come in a variety of colors and don't bleed through the paper. I like them, BUT I was sent a pack of Frixion Erasable Pens and I love them!!
1.) They're erasable and I really appreciate that. Although correction tape works it really bothers me to use it. It doesn't look clean.
2.) These pens write smoothly and come in a variety of colors.
WHERE TO BUY: I bought mine at Target, but they're available on Amazon & I'm sure other stores too.
Correction Tape
If you don't use erasable pens, correction tape is a LIFE SAVER. I prefer the correction tape to the fluid because you don't have to worry about it drying or smearing. I mess up in my planner ALL THE TIME and this has saved me. All my pens/ highlighters write fine on it too.
WHERE TO BUY: Anywhere you shop. I got the 2 pack at Walmart.
