Golden Globes 2018: Girl Power

The Golden Globes red carpet was a sea of black as celebrities work black in support of the "Time's Up" movement, a new initiative fighting sexual misconduct. 

Emma Stone, Susan Sarandon, and Emma Watson were among the women who brought activists as their dates to the Golden Globes. This choice was also inspired by the Time's Up initiative.

Winter Weather Advisory issued for Baltimore/Washington Metro area

A Winter Weather Advisory has been issued Sunday for the Baltimore/Washington Metro area for Monday afternoon and evening. 

The National Weather Service says that a potential wintry mix with freezing could cause hazardous driving conditions across D.C., Maryland and Virginia, including Baltimore, Prince George's, Montgomery Anne Arundel and Howard counties in Maryland and Fairfax, Loudoun, Prince William and Arlington counties, along with Alexandria, in Virginia.

Single $570 Million Powerball Jackpot Ticket Sold in New Hampshire

Someone in New Hampshire has won big and took home the $450 million Mega Millions prize, another single ticket was sold in New Hampshire for the $570 million jackpot over the weekend. The cash value of the jackpot would be at least $300 million, if taken as a lump sum.

The winning ticket was sold at Reeds Ferry Market convenience store called Merrimack, the New Hampshire Lottery said. The store gets a bonus of $75,000 for selling the winning numbers,

Adam Rippon becomes first openly gay U.S. athlete to qualify for Winter Olympics

Adam Rippon was officially named to the U.S. Winter Olympics figure skating team, despite his disappointing fourth-place finish at the U.S. national championships on Saturday night.

“I think in this day and age, it’s so important for you to be proud of who you are. I can’t believe I am where I am today. I was just a little gay kid in the middle of nowhere Pennsylvania,” Rippon said. “Growing up I didn’t have a lot of role models. I said if I was ever given a platform and had a chance I would share my story.”
