Here's How to Help During the Aftermath of the Manchester Bombing
This tragedy is just too unbelievably sad for words. The horrific attack claimed the lives of 22 people and left 59 others injured. Many people are doing everything they can to help. from cab drivers working for free to people taking victims into their homes.
Here are a few ways that you can help :
Help families by sharing verified images of missing people.
Parents and relatives are using hashtags #MissingInManchester and #ManchesterMissing in a bid to find out information on the dozens of people who have not been located since the explosion. To help broaden the search, worried family members are urging others to retweet photos of those missing, many of which are believed to be young.
Donate money (but check the collection is authorized before you do).
To support the families of those killed and injured in the attack, Manchester Evening News has set up a JustGiving page, which broke its $65,000 target just hours after it went live on Tuesday morning. However, do double-check that the charity collection is authorized before donating money to any crowdfunding sites. Sadly, scammers have been known to trick kindhearted donors during times like these.
Pay tribute in a book of condolence.
If you want to share your sympathy and thoughts for those affected by the attack, Manchester City Council has set up an online book of condolence. You can write your message here.
