Delta Airlines Testing Self-Service Bag Machines With Facial Recognition

Delta is doing their part to make travel easier on us by offering a new way to breeze through the baggage drop off. They are now testing self-service bag machines, which will allow customers to securely check their own bags as quickly as possible. The company has installed four of them at Minneapolis-St. Paul International airport. There will also be a machine with facial recognition technology that will match customers with their passport photos through identification verification.

FINALLY!!!!  Amazon is trying to make sure that when an Alexa device wakes up, it’s because you really called out “Alexa.” Yesterday they announced a feature called "Cloud Based Word Verification" which basically lets a device double-check that you really said “Alexa” and not just a word that sounds similar.  Apparently this is done without slowing down the machine's response time which is awesome!

Burger King may soon be serving alcohol at a New York City restaurant

Whoppers and beer? Yes please! 

One New York City Burger King franchisee is seeking approval to serve alcohol at a location in Midtown Manhattan. The franchisee, Rackson Restaurants LLC, recently approached the local community board about applying for a liquor license. There already BK's in the UK that serve booze so hopefully this will become a thing soon!

Hackers threaten to release upcoming Disney movie - but which one?

Hackers claim to have stolen an upcoming Disney film and are threatening to release it online unless they're paid a "huge sum" in Bitcoin. No word on exactly which film but its rumored to be Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales is coming out Memorial Day Weekend, with. Disney is supposedly  is working with the feds, and is apparently willing to see if the hackers make good on their threat before doing anything.
