New Job Calculator Helps Determine If You're "Job Old"

How old is "too old" for your current job?

Thanks to a new "Job Calculator" at Zippia we can now learn the average age people start to think you are old for your job and for most jobs it is in your late 40s.

Zippia used census data to find the average worker age in over 500 jobs and what they found was the younger the average age of the job meant the sooner workers "age out" of that position.

We already did the math and found that 42 is the age people "feel old" in radio, but here are some of the jobs with the oldest workers if you're looking for something in the future:

  • Tool and Die Makers (Average Age 49.7)
  • Postal Service Clerks (Average Age 49.5)
  • Chief Executives and Legislators (Average Age 48.9)
  • Bus Drivers [Transit and Intercity] (Average Age 48.8)
  • School Bus Drivers (Average Age 48.7)
