Ew, David.
Daniel Levy, son of Hollywood legend Eugene Levy, just laid out some news on Twitter that's sending the Internet into the worst of tailspins.
On the day after the most moving episode of the fast-paced comedy series aired on Pop TV in the US, Levy tweeted that the show had been renewed for a sixth season CBC (it's Canadian parent network) and Pop TV.
Great news right? NOT SO FAST, MISTER.
Dan immediately followed it up with the most crushing news fans of the show could never have been prepared for: "WE HAVE DECIDED SEASON SIX WILL BE OUR LAST". The all-caps are mine.
DEVASTATED.
What are we supposed to do now, Dan? We the American populace have grown to find solace in your quirky little town of Schitt's Creek...a bright spot in our otherwise dull and barren wasteland. The comedy stylings of Eugene Levy and Catherine O'Hara are second to nonw. And Dan, your on-screen relationship with Noah Reid is one of the most realistic and normal depictions of a gay couple on television today. You don't rely on tired stereotypes and tropes to portray the most real relationship I've seen besides my own.
I'm legit crying at my desk because of this heartbreaking news. Please reconsider. We all need a little Schitt in our lives. We are so grateful for everything you've done and maybe we're being a bit selfish...but having been with you since the beginning, I can't imagine this world without the Roses, Budds and Schitts.
