An employee of Frederick County Public Schools in Maryland was fired after correcting a student's misspelling in a tweet on January 5th.
The student, only identified as "Nathan" tweeted his plea to "close school tammarow" (sic). School system employee Katie Nash who ran the school system's Twitter account replied (now-deleted): "But then how would you learn how to spell 'tomorrow'?"
In a world where Wendy's and other top brands are regularly sassing their followers, this was apparently frowned upon by the school system.
She was told not to tweet anymore after that interaction, telling The Frederick News-Post that she was fired on Friday afternoon.
