Did you know that there's an ACTUAL best way to open an Oreo cookie?
Thanks to a team of MIT scientists we now know that pulling both sides of the Oreo cookie apart is actually the best way to open an Oreo instead of twisting them apart.
The team of mechanical engineers actually published an article of the topic titled On Oreology, the fracture and flow of "milk's favorite cookie" and developed an "oreometer" which can accurately recreate the sensation of twisting an Oreo apart by hand.
The researchers also looked at other factors like different cookie flavors, volume of filling and rotation rate and found that they do play a factor in getting the perfect amount of Oreo cream on one cookie too.
You can learn more about the study in the video below, but just know that you might be wasting your time trying to carefully twist open an Oreo!
