Disney Plus Is Adding An Ad-Supported Version Later This Year

If you're trying to cut back on how much you're paying for streaming services every month, then get ready to change your Disney Plus subscription because the streaming service is adding an ad-supported tier later this year!

The company announced that the new tier will be coming sometime in "late 2022" in the US before expanding internationally in 2023 and while a price wasn't announced, you would expect it to be half the cost of the currently monthly price of $7.99 or $79.99 per year.

Obviously the move was done to gain more subscribers for Disney Plus, but if you don't mind watching commercials during Loki, The Mandalorian, or any other original programming, then it's kind of a win-win for everyone.

There's no word on how ads will integrate into original content because these shows were created without breaks for advertising, but fingers crossed this doesn't also mean the ad-free version has a price increase!!
