Cicadas are the NEW food trend that you didn't know you wanted to eat and it looks like pizza isn't even safe from the 17-year bugs!
A pizzeria in Dayton, Ohio called The Pizza Bandit is going viral for its new pizza that they call their Spicy Thais Cicada Pie. Essentially it's an 18-inch hand-tossed pizza with miso hoisin sriracha sauce, mozzarella and provolone cheeses, fresh veggies, and topped off with cicada bodies and a Cicada wing crust!
Apparently the owner of the pizzeria collected the cicadas by picking them off of trees along his daily walk and even held a testing panel over the weekend to let people know how it tasted.
