Avengers Campus is officially opening this week at Disneyland and to celebrate Disney held an opening ceremony with a TON of celebrities from the MCU, including Anthony Mackie who handed the shield to the new Captain America debuting at the Avengers-themed land!
Avengers Campus will be the first place to actively update its Captain America and present the character in its current iteration from The Falcon And The Winter Soldier as Sam Wilson and Anthony Mackie who know wields the shield on-screen, made a surprise appearance during the ceremony to honor it.
Mackie popped up with the same shield-carrying case that he rocked in the Disney Plus show and then gave it to the park's version of the character and the crowd went wild for it because it was a HUGE moment for representation at Disney.
