EA has announced that former NFL quarterback Colin Kaepernick will be returning to the EA Madden series as a top free agent the next update for Madden 21 after being out of the game since 2016.
EA announced that "“Colin Kaepernick is one of the top free agents in football and a starting-caliber quarterback. The team at EA SPORTS, along with millions of Madden NFL fans, want to see him back in our game" and you'll actually be able to pick up Kaepernick for any team you want in the game.
If you remember Kaepernick used to be on the 49ers until 2016 when he became a free agent after being one of the first athletes to kneel in silent protest during “The Star-Spangled Banner.”
Ever since then Kaepernick hasn't been in any Madden games because he was no longer a player and couldn't bargain with the NFL Players Association which partners with EA every year to include players' likeness.
